British Heart Foundation has a history of running graduate programmes in several different teams.

Our structured graduate schemes will provide you with the opportunity to work and experience life in one of the UK’s largest charities, gaining hands-on experience across key organisational areas.

Medical and Marketing, Fundraising and Engagement

The Medical Directorate exists to support and involve those with heart and circulatory diseases and associated conditions in our work, influence key decision-makers (such as parliamentarians and health system leaders) and ensure the donations we receive go to high quality research.

The Marketing, Fundraising and Engagement Directorate's mission is to maximise income by inspiring people to help fund our lifesaving research.

As a Graduate, you’ll be responsible for supporting several different teams across these two directorates in delivering projects to meet business needs. This will include supporting improvement initiatives, managing deadlines, and contributing to the team at an exceptional standard. This role will assist with long-term project work through research and analysis, and by taking ownership of specific work strands.

Technology

This is an innovative graduate scheme in our talented Technology Directorate. We aim to be at the forefront of IT and digital solutions, which assist the smooth running of the charity. Our graduate schemes will equip you with the skills and knowledge to become a technology professional. Through our programmes you’ll develop and acquire experience in technology delivery, software engineering and information security. You’ll also gain exposure in other areas of our technology team, including development and testing. These experiences will help you to develop key and important skills vital for a career in Technology.

With a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) we’re looking for people with excellent problem-solving skills, project management, customer focus, stakeholder management and a passion for learning and developing.

Finance

This is an innovative graduate scheme in our Finance Directorate, where you’ll be equipped with the skills and knowledge to become a finance professional. Designed to give you exposure to both technical accounting and business finance processes, while complementing study towards a professional (post-graduate) qualification, you’ll be supported in qualifying as an Associate Chartered Accountant by studying towards the ICAEW qualification.
