The opportunity

Our Onboarding team welcomes and guides new employees at the British Heart Foundation (BHF) through the onboarding journey in a friendly and efficient way. As our Onboarding Manager, you’ll lead and help the team to deliver high-quality onboarding services for all new hires.

You'll manage the onboarding and employment screening for all new employees, ensuring the team adheres to the SLAs and processes. You'll also look for and implement ways to improve the processes, making sure our new employees have a smooth and effective onboarding experience.

As Onboarding Manager, you’ll deal with complex queries from both candidates and hiring managers and make sure they are solved quickly. You’ll assist the team in monitoring the progress of all hires throughout the onboarding process and provide regular MI and status updates to the team and other stakeholders.

Working arrangements

This is a 12-14 month FTC covering family leave.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office.

The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you must be prepared to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause. Most of our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office each week, on average.

About you

With excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills, you'll provide a customer orientated approach in delivery of services and completion of work to agreed time and quality.

You’ll have effective people management experience and previous experience leading a team. With strong communication skills you’ll be able to work across various teams. Well organised, you'll have the ability to work under pressure whilst still providing a high standard of service or results.

You’ll be comfortable working on your own initiative and as part of a team.

Knowledgeable on Visas, DBS and employment contracts you’ll have experience working with ATS and HR systems.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • experience working in Recruitment & Onboarding 
  • line management experience
  • excellent communication skills
  • experience using an ATS and HR systems
  • knowledge of visas, DBS and right to work checks and employment contracts
