The opportunity
Our vision is a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases. We raise money to research cures and treatments, so we can give people more time with the ones they love.

As our Research Impact & Evaluation Analyst you’ll support British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) research impact evaluation function by helping to evaluate the impact of the research BHF has funded since 1961. You’ll play a key part in investigating the outcomes of our research to support fundraising activities and inform decision-making.

Supported by your scientific knowledge you’ll be able to dive deep into the outcomes of our research, use advanced analytic tools to uncover trends and insights into our research impact, and use communication skills to turn complex information into inspiring stories.

You’ll support various projects by using quantitative and qualitative methods to uncover insights about our funded research. Additionally, you’ll be involved in creating data visualisations to highlight the impact of our research and assist teams across BHF in comprehending this impact.

Working arrangements

Please note this is a 24 month fixed term contract.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

About you

Educated to degree level in a relevant field (e.g. bioscience, biomedical research or similar), or with equivalent experience, you’ll have excellent numerical, statistical and analytical skills.

An advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite, with an interest in research impact evaluation, you’ll have previous experience of Impact Evaluation, or similar, in a large, complex organisation.

You’ll have previous experience of performing quantitative and qualitative analysis to extract insights, matched by excellent numeracy, literacy and database skills.

You’ll also have the following skills and experience:
Advanced quantitative data skillset which could include data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, data visualisation, and data management
Ability to understand, analyse and interpret complex research data, and present them to other (non-scientific) audiences
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong time management and organisational skills
Strong team-working skills as well as ability to work independently
Demonstrate enthusiasm to learn new skills
Innovatively approach challenges and think outside the box to find unique and effective solutions
