The opportunity

For 60+ years British Heart Foundation (BHF) has been focused on transforming the nation’s heart and circulatory health. Growing income and support for our cause means we need access to the right systems, tools, and brilliant data insight. This is where our Enterprise Foundations (EF) Programme comes, powered by technology, it will transform the way we work.

This programme will deliver cutting-edge technologies, better systems, and data, and culture change to provide the foundations for growing our income so we can support the lifesaving breakthroughs millions of people desperately need.

As our Senior Internal Communications Officer you will be planning, developing and delivering communication campaigns to support the delivery of an organisational transformation programme here at BHF.  You’ll work across our Enterprise Foundations Team and our Internal Communications and Engagement Team, supporting key stakeholders and ensuring alignment between the programme activities and BHF’s overall communication strategy.

You'll also work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure communications are accessible and relevant at all stages, whilst gathering feedback to improve the effectiveness of the campaigns and support improvements across BHF communication channels so our colleagues and volunteers remain informed and engaged.

Working arrangements

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be located between your home and our London office.

At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with strong influencing, editorial and written, verbal and visual communication skills to complement their knowledge of internal communications best practices.

With excellent relationship building skills, you will be confident dealing with key stakeholders at all levels across the business. You'll have strong time management skills, able to manage projects effectively and to deadlines.

With proven experience of working in a Communications role preferably working on change and transformation programmes, you’ll be able to write and edit copy for a variety of audience and channels and have a good knowledge of video editing to creatively bring our stories to life.

We know that not everyone will meet every single requirement listed in, and that’s okay. If you’re passionate about communications and transformation and believe you have the skills and experience, or the potential to make positive difference, we encourage you to apply.
