We have an exciting opportunity for a Cardiac Nurse to join our dynamic Support team who support patients living with heart and circulatory diseases, their families and the general public.
About the role
We deal with thousands of enquiries and as one of our Cardiac Nurses you’ll contribute to the delivery of a world class helpline service by providing high quality information and support on heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors.
You'll help, both over the telephone and in writing, heart patients and their families every day, whether it is those living with a heart or circulatory condition or helping to prevent them in the first place. Utilising your knowledge and experience, you'll provide support to hundreds of heart patients.
Working arrangements
This is a part time position, working 28 hours per week, worked on Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday. Swapping shifts with a colleague occasionally is possible. Working hours are 9am - 5pm.
This is a home based contract. There will be a requirement to travel to our London offices to attend meetings and workshops, as well as other BHF sites, when required.
About you
You'll have a professional and confident telephone manner, able to explain cardiac information in a clear and simple manner, demonstrating empathy and compassion as required. You’ll also have excellent written communication skills and will be able to respond to customers through emails and letters as well as BHF's online community.
An NMC Registered Nurse you’ll ideally have specialist study in cardiac nursing at level 6. You'll also have in-depth knowledge of a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, their treatment and risk factors, and of lifestyle issues relating to coronary heart disease.
