Over 7 million people live with cardiovascular disease in the UK. And they need us more than ever. We’re on a mission to help the millions of families affected by cardiovascular disease and give every person the best hope of a long healthy life.
We fund approximately £100 million of cardiovascular research annually and we continue to save lives by providing life-changing information and support, improving access to CPR and defibrillators. Lasting change takes time, but we’re committed to this cause.
As the UK’s largest independent funder of research into heart and circulatory diseases, we fund the brightest scientists at every stage of their career and invest in the buildings and facilities that they need to deliver groundbreaking work - from clot busting drugs to ICDs.
We also support and work alongside those directly impacted by heart and circulatory diseases in the UK and we involve them in our work from patient support through to influencing clinical services at the highest level.
We have roles that call on specialist medical knowledge, while others make use of a host of transferable skills. Innovation is front and centre, and we are always looking for bold, new ideas that have the potential to transform lives.
Since joining BHF in October 2017 as a Workplace Survival Officer I've progressed through several roles, each with increasing responsibility. BHF has supported my career aspirations and long-term goals by providing essential training and opportunities to shadow other teams, helping me understand different roles better. My managers have encouraged me to pursue new opportunities, making me aware of roles I might not have considered on my own. I've always felt that BHF promotes applying for opportunities across the organisation. Helen - Operations Manager, The Circuit
