Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to jobs.bhf.org.uk

BHF is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible and inclusive for all users, regardless of ability or access to technology. This statement sets out how we've made the BHF careers website compliant and user friendly.

Accessibility standards

We are committed to ongoing accessibility improvements. Our site is reviewed and tested to ensure compatibility with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. We also welcome feedback from our users to help us identify areas for enhancement.

Recite Me accessibility toolbar

To further support our users, we have integrated the Recite Me accessibility toolbar across the BHF careers site. This innovative tool offers a suite of customisable features designed to enhance the user experience for people with a wide range of accessibility needs.

The Recite Me toolbar enables you to:

  • Change font sizes, styles, and colours for improved readability
  • Adjust background colour contrasts to suit your preferences
  • Have content read aloud using a screen reader function
  • Translate site content into multiple languages
  • Utilise a built-in dictionary and magnifier
  • Customise line heights and spacing for easier navigation

The Recite Me toolbar is accessible from every page. Simply click the "Accessibility Tools" button at the top of the page or the Accessibility icon in the top right corner (this will remain top right even when scrolling down the page) to launch the toolbar and explore the various options available.

Downloads

Job descriptions and candidate packs are available as Adobe PDF files. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to access them, which you can download for free from the Adobe website. If you require downloads in another format, please contact us at [email protected].

Images and videos

Graphics and images on our website have alternative text, which describe the contents or function of what is displayed on screen.

Videos are hosted on YouTube and include subtitles.

Links

Links in sentences are underlined and in a different colour (red). Links open in the same window.

Forms

The fields in forms are clearly labelled, and errors in forms are flagged before a form can be submitted.

Navigation aids

You can return to the homepage at any time by clicking on our heart logo in the top left-hand corner of the page or the House icon, also at the top left of the page.
