As a Solution Architect you’ll play an instrumental role in making that happen.
About the role
In this role, you’ll develop a deep understanding of the technology and business ambitions of a key business programme in BHF, Enterprise Foundations. Working closely with the Programme and Architecture teams you’ll shape workstreams and lead solution design to enable the business ambitions and fulfil the architectural vision.
With a clear understanding of the suppliers, as-is configuration, and capabilities of the technology you’ll provide governance and guidance to the engineering teams and suppliers to ensure the quality of delivered solutions.

Working arrangements
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you’ll have previous knowledge and experience of architecture frameworks and approaches, as well as knowledge of industry standards and best practices to ensure solutions are efficient, reliable, and scalable.
You'll have experience and knowledge of the following:
- Knowledge of deployment and service transition processes to ensure the solution can be smoothly transitioned into operation.
- Designing, developing, documenting, and supporting technology solutions
- Extensive experience working in a solution architecture or technical design role.
- Previous experience of working with virtual, multi-cultural and matrixed teams and 3rd parties
- Stakeholder management and communicating skills with stakeholders up to director level.
- Experience of implementing architectural standards and best practice
Able to lead technology change initiatives, you’ll be able to work collaboratively with technology suppliers and will be able to create high-level and low-level designs that describe the technical architecture of a solution.
You’ll have strong analytical skills to analyse complex business problems and requirements, and will have excellent collaborative skills, able to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders and demonstrate diplomacy and negotiation across functions.
